Mothers & Babies 1-on-1 Project in Florida

(Healthy Start and Healthy Families, Nurse-Family Partnership, Parents as Teachers)

Project Description:

MB-Florida evaluates the statewide rollout of Mothers & Babies 1-on-1 Program through Florida Healthy Start Coalitions and select Florida MIECHV sites. In addition to observing the effectiveness of MB in reducing depression for pregnant and postpartum clients in the Healthy Start Program, this study seeks to understand variables that predict how a train-the-trainer approach (with a mental health clinician providing technical assistance and support) to implementing statewide may be successful in encouraging program fidelity and sustainability. Research activities began July 15, 2016, and terminate in January 2019. MIECHV sites continue to deliver MB, with some receiving program technical assistance from an MB Remote Supervisor (based out of Northwestern University).

This project was funded in part by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in collaboration with Florida Health Resources and Services Administration.
